Our 2019 event was held in Kent and drew competitors from Essex, Hampshire, Surrey and Hertfordshire as well as all over Kent.   Sadly we had to cancel the 2020 event due to Coronavirus, but the 2021 event went ahead in Kent. By popular request we hosted the 2022 event in the north of the country and it was a great success and we have remained in the north since. 

At all the Spring/Northern events we had/have a number of classes for pure and partbred foreign breeds, open to all - no membership or qualification required to take part. Qualifiers included APHS Foreign Breed National Finals, APHS Youth Ridden Finals, APHS Veteran Finale and our Champion of Champions.

As at all our events, all winners of Youth classes receive a keepsake trophy, rosettes were awarded to 6th place and sashes to all class winners. We will also run a separate Part and Pure Championships for both in hand and ridden.  All our awards are hand made bespoke ribbons and sashes.

As always our Youth, Walk / Trot and Novice classes are open to ANY Breed of horse or pony (not just foreign breeds).

The Northern Show 2024 will hold the following QUALIFIERS
  • All (Foreign Breed) classes are qualifiers for the APHS Foreign Breed National Finals on 6th October 2024 - top 3 from all Foreign Breed classes qualify.
  • All Veteran classes are qualifiers for the APHS Veteran Finale in September - top 3 qualify.
  • All Veteran classes are also qualifiers for the APHS Foreign Breed Veteran Championships in October - top 3 qualify.
  • This show is a VHS Gold Ticket qualifier for the 2024 VHS National Championships. We will be holding a veteran championship immediately after the ridden veteran class at this show and the Champion & Reserve will qualify.
  • All youth classes are qualifiers for the APHS Youth Ridden Finals in September - top 3 qualify.
  • All (Foreign Breed) classes are qualifiers for the Sunshine Tour in September - winner qualifies.
  • All Concours D'Elegance classes are qualifiers for the  Concours d'Elegance Society of GB National Show & Championships in September.
  • Nominated classes are qualifiers for the ESUK Grass Roots Championships.
